The research interest of Prof. Hao Chen's group at NJIT is broad. We are working on mass spectrometry, electrochemistry, proteomics and organic chemistry for solving problems in chemical, biological, environmental and forensic science. In Particular, our research focuses on absolute quantitation of proteins and organic compounds without the need of standards, using combined electrochemistry and mass spectrometry. We also study reaction mechanisms with interest on elusive reaction intermediate detection. In addition, we develop method for detection of PFAS, nanoplastics and nitrosamines.
