Urban and Community Forestry Grants

The Center for Natural Resources is joining The Nature Conservancy (TNC) on a Newark Tree Canopy Initiative project funded by USDA, Forest Service U.S. Department of Agriculture. This project will develop a long-term maintenance program to optimize tree health, launch a green workforce development program to bolster the local economy and measure anticipated benefits from trees planted. Increasing shade, air quality, and stormwater absorption will benefit current residents and generations to come.
