The long-term goal of the laboratory is to design biomaterials and strategies to understand the mechanisms and processes by which tissue innervation occurs, and how to leverage these data to improve skeletal muscle repair outcomes. Our lab focuses on developing multi-disciplinary approaches including principles from biomedical, chemical, and mechanical engineering; biology; material science; and chemistry to address the problems of tissue innervation and soft tissue reconstruction.
