We are looking for an enthusiastic and outstanding PhD student to work on a recently funded project, “Inverse Design of Electrically Conductive and Magnetically Bi-stable Coordination Polymers”. The project heavily relies on periodic electronic structure calculations, machine learning (ML) developments, and high-throughput screening for material design and discovery. The student will be supported via a Research Assistantship and will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with leading experimental groups. The starting date is flexible and can be in September 2024 or January 2025.
Requirements for the position include:
A Master’s degree in Computational Chemistry, Physics, Material Science and Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in Machine Learning or Neural Network development.
Experience in coding, Fortran and Python languages preferred.
Good communication skills.
Applicants with experimental backgrounds will not be considered for this position. Interested applicants, please send a cover letter, a CV, and contact information of 3 references to Dr. Farnaz Shakib at shakib@njit.edu.
No new postdoc position is available at the moment.
