Chang Yaramothu
Dr. Chang Yaramothu is an Assistant Professor of Engineering Technology with a joint appointment in Biomedical Engineering and the Director of the Sensorimotor Quantification and rehabilitation Laboratory (SQRLab).
He graduated from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and its Honors College with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering (BioInstrumentation Specialization) in May 2013, with an M.S in Biomedical Engineering (Neural Engineering Specialization) in May 2014 and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering in December 2017.
His short-term research goals are to research and innovate rapid, portal, and objective concussion diagnostic protocols that can be widely used without specialized training. Long-term goals include creating affordable therapeutic regimens and devices for concussion rehabilitation and establishing quantitative metrics for other vestibular and visual dysfunctions in an effort to make medicine more objective, quantitative, and affordable ultimately.
Dr. Y has received numerous accolades, including being named a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Senior Member of the National Academy of Inventors, New Jersey Digi-Tech Innovator of 2020 by NJBiz Magazine, and was part of the team that was awarded the Most Innovate Breakthrough at the Auggie Awards (the “Oscars” of VR/XR) in 2018.
