Raman is a vibrational spectroscopy technique that provides information about molecular structure and composition of materials. Raman is complementary to infrared. Information which cannot be obtained by IR spectroscopy can often be obtained with Raman. A Raman spectrum provides a "fingerprint" that is unique to the material so that it has a wide applications in chemistry, material science and the bio-pharmaceutical industry. Thermo Fisher DXR Raman Microscope has user- exchangeable lasers (532 nm and 780nm), gratings, and filters. It is capable to do a single point and multiple points mapping, line mapping and two dimensional mapping.
